200 miles to Dawson

So now Wild and Free is on the trail from Pelly Crossing to the "halfway" point of Dawson City. It is a 201 mile run with a dog drop at Scroggie Creek, 102 miles past Pelly. Then its over King Solomon's Dome (ele. 4,000 ft.) and down to Dawson for a 36 hour layover. Dawson is 450 miles from Whitehorse and 540 miles from Fairbanks. At the time of this posting Mark and Kyla are on the road to Dawson where they will meet Thom Walker who will help them get Brent's camp setup and take care of the dogs during the layover. Dawson is the only checkpoint at which the handlers can feed, water, and care for the dogs. The first musher to Dawson gets 4 ounces of gold, go Wild and Free!
