Wild and Free reaches Dawson!

Brent made it to Dawson in 6th position at 2:25am. He had Madonna in the sled bag and had carried her up King Solomon's Dome. He said Madonna was not holding her own, she was starting to wobble or stutter a bit so he put her in the bag right away and the others rallied to pull her up the dome. Mark said she was eager to get out the bag after they arrived. I am not sure if this is the end of the race for her, I suspect Brent will make that decision just before leaving Dawson.
Other than that the run from Scroggie went well, he made a couple short rests on the way. He is pleased with their position and with his plan thus far. He is in a good shape for the second half and glad to get to Dawson for a long rest and recooperaation for the dogs and himself.
Hopefully Thom and/or Brent can fill us all in on some details while they are in Dawson, eh.

O.k. gang here's the deal on Madonna. She has a right front shoulder injury and we are giving her the most love and physical therapy that we can while we have her for 36 hours. Brent's dogs are looking really good otherwise. A few small wrist injuries and a sore shoulder or two is all that's needing attention. That's a really good injury report considering the fast hardpacked trail. Brent is sleeping right now, and Kyla and I are giving the dogs as much love as humanly possible. Jen, we will treat Madonna as if she was "precious". Eagle and Thunder are doing well and recovering from their shoulder injuries. When someone with a camera wakes up we'll send some photo's your way. Thanks for all your love and support everyone.
In other news. Molly and Rosie let almost the whole way from Scroggie, so Brent is excited about Molly doing great.
I also spoke to Iris Sutten's handlers and they gave a glowing report on how Jerry is doing in her team. She has mostly been running in Swing or as a team dog, but I'm sure she'll get her chance to lead in the remaining 500 miles. When she arrives, we'll get a photo of Jerry for everyone.
It was a bummer and a bit of a surprise to see Ritchie Beattie scratch in the 300 as I know we were all pulling for him to do well since he was running Brent's Skunk in the team. Hopefully all went well with him, but I have nothing else to report on why Ritchie scratched.
Wild and Free in the tarped Hizouse!

Awesome run so far! Glad that Brent is getting some well-deserved rest. Thanks to Thom for keeping us in the loop!
